Snow day

I picked up our first-grader after school last night. She was really sad that she lost her homework. We went to her locker to gather her hat and boots, then our adventure began. She was scared, thinking we’d get in deep trouble for this. We went to her classroom to try the door. Denied– door locked!

That couldn’t stop us. We found a custodian to unlock her classroom door.  Got into her room, but her desk had no homework papers. Awww…
As we left the building, she realized, “OH! I should have looked in my mailbox.”  I told her it would be OK. Hugs. Pointed out she’s not the first kid to forget homework. A few giggles, then she was OK with it.
Drove home.  Emailed her teacher. Guess who forgot to hand out the homework papers.
